Bedroom decor

Happy Monday all!

We have finally done our bedrooms upstairs, all our time was going into the downstairs, the lounge, the kitchen & then just other jobs that crop up out of the blue that need addressing! Yesterday we finally got some bits we had been looking to get for a while now and I’m super happy with how it looks!  So thought I would share with you how we have created the look & where our bits and bobs are from.

We have gone for a grey and white theme in here & I am working on Jacob to let me have some pink in here.. haha we can dream!

Walls-We painted the grey wall in Moles breath and then the white  is just white emulsion we had lying around.

Lamps- I wanted some large lamps for the beside, so when I saw these in dunelm I knew they would end perfect. I have wanted them for awhile and they have been out of stock for ages in stores near us, but this weekend we were in Preston & I spotted a dunelm from the motorway  so we had to go and they had 2 left! Yay!

 bedside lamps

Lampshade- also from dunelm! Also in the sale, £8 and it shines beautifully onto the wall as a reflection!lampshade

Bedside tables- my bedside tables are cheap ones from Argos that we have up-cycled ourselves, we painted them with rustoleum chalk paint in antique white & then replpaced the knobs with crystal ones from Homebase to create a more glam look! bedside tables

Prints- The frames are RIBBA from ikea 50×70. The prints are from my all time favourite shop DESENIO.  It’s an online shop that have hundreds of gorgeous prints for you to frame. We went for a picture of the moon & a quote that reads ‘ I love you to the moon and back. Ikea frames

Bed frame- I have forgotten where this was from as i have had it since I lived with mum, I’m sure you’ve can pick one up similar online somewhere!

Bedding- The bedding is from George, it’s from their luxury range and is Egyptian cotton. It has a slight stripe to it and I may in time change it for plain white but this will do for now !Bedding

Cushions- I have 2 large grey cushions at the back which were my mums and were baby pink. We died them with Dylon to a dark grey & it worked wonders! The check cushions are from IKEA! I think they were £5 or something, then I just bought some cushions from ikea also. The heart cushion is from primark! £3.

Thanks for looking- hope you enjoyed this post, more posts about the house to follow!!

Batiste’s Heavenly Volume Dry Shampoo,

Happy February lovelies! ( post a little late) Hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend, I am going to be reviewing Batiste’s Heavenly Volume Dry Shampoo,

As you can see the can is super pretty with pink and purple patterns that really catch your eye, it also looks pretty in your bag or on your dressing table.

Batiste is pretty much the only dry shampoo I turn to when I’m not washing my hair, Not only does it refresh your hair, but it gives it a bit of life too! I was a bit sceptical to the claim at first that it can also add volume, but since I have naturally straight, flat hair i thought I had nothing to lose.

I used this on Saturday night before I went out and yes, it does deliver show stopping volume, if you know me you know I like my back combing and…

Nip&fab;Dragons blood cleansing pads!

Nip&fab;Dragons blood cleansing pads!

After recently seeing that the kardashians were a fan on the Nip & Fab range, I stumbled across them in the sale at Superdrug for £4.49 instead of £9.95, so i just had to!

I have to tell you all something funny, when i was buying them with my friend I said ‘ do you think its real dragon’s blood?’

and the best part was she was like ‘I don’t know i hope not!’ It was not until i got home and asked my mum the same question that i remembered that dragon’s aren’t real… :”)

I didn’t know what to expect when i first opened them but they are almost like pre loaded cotton pads, moist to touch, quite thin.

First of all the smell of this product is lovely, I think its the witch hazel that gives it there smell, it’s like a clean spa smelling smell, lol.

This product claims to : Wipe away the day with these gentle cleansing pads enriched with salicylic + hyaluronic acids to deeply cleanse pores + provide long-lasting hydration for skin that appears plumper.

I would say it does to the above, when i use it after my other skin care products it really does leave my face clean and touchwood my skin has been clearer since i started using them. I was sceptical at first because my skin can get really quite oily but since using these i would say it has got a lot better. I have heard Salicylic acid can be quite drying but this product has the addition of hyaluronic acids  which means that skin isn’t stripped and is instead left hydrated and plum. I would say use them and wait 5 minutes before you apply your moisturiser as it does leave a residue on your face.

All in all I love this product and would defo recommend, especially while they are in the sale! I’m not sure If i am prepared to pay  the full £9.95 for them as I do feel that is quite steep.  I have had mine for a couple of weeks and I am already half way through the pot. They may have to be a luxury item for holidays or weekends away oh and birthdays of course 😉

I am excited to try some of their other products in there range.

Have you used any of the Nip & Fab range?

Ultimate Blends The Delicate Soother

Hi hunny’s!

Being a hairdresser, I like to try the high street products that you guys rave about so I can have an alternative to recommend to clients who buy from the shelves instead of in salons.

Recently I have heard great reviews  on Ultimate Blends ‘The Delicate Soother’. I LOVE some of the others in the Ultimate blends range so why not give this one a go!?

I picked these up in ASDA for £2 each! So £6 for shampoo, conditioner and a body lotion. What a steal!!

First of all the smell of this range is beautiful! I could smell it without even opening the bottle! The main ingredients are rice cream and oat milk. The packaging is sooo pretty and girly. Almost a little like the dove packaging as they always go for white and a neutral colour.

Even the name ‘The delicate soother’ sounds comforting!! I was worried that it would make my hair lank as my hair is quite fine, but I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. This shampoo really soothes your scalp leaving it feeling moisturised and super clean. The shampoo itself is really quite thick, so you don’t need much of it. It lathers up lovely and leaves your hair feeling so clean and moisturised. The conditioner is a lot thinner than I thought as I thought it would be more of a treatment style but never the less it did the trick, detangling and nourishing my hair.

All in all I am pleased with this product. And will defo re purchase! You will not be disappointed!

FLAWLESS Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

I must tell you all about this fabulous little palette I have found.

The brand ‘Revolution’ has taken the makeup industry by storm in the past few months and I can see why! All of their products I have tried so far have been amazing, stay tuned for my next blog post on their contour and highlighting kit!

This Eyeshadow palette comes in beautiful rose gold packaging, which was what really caught my eye. It also has a mirror running along the full length of the palette which is what I look for when choosing eye palettes.

The exterior has a black glossy finish to it which makes it easy to wipe clean after use. It also has a snap shut function on the front so there is no risk of leaving it open and spoiling your eyeshadows.

It has 32 different eyeshadow colours with different textures to each one, some matte, ideal for bases and others metallic/sparkly.

The colours are a great variety including day and night shades which means its great for the week and weekends and there is no need to carry multiple eye shadows in your bag!

As you can see by the usage on this i love the Copper Shimmer shade in this palette. It’s a lovely copper colour and being blue/green eyed i like to use this to make my eyes stand out. Im excited to try the rest, Red night looks like it could be lovely with a black smokey eye.

Here is a look I have created with this palette using colours, paper (top left) , highlight (top row, 4th in), Copper shimmer (3rd row, 4th in).

Now, the price! I picked this up in my local Superdrug for £8! You can’t go wrong with this girls, the pigment’s in the shadows are amazing, I would say it is on par if not better than the Naked palette’s!!
Have you tried any of the revolution eye palettes?

until next time

I used this on Saturday night before I went out and yes, it does deliver show stopping volume, if you know me you know I like my back combing and height, so this is perfect for me. Like all other dry shampoo’s in there range it is white but does disapear at the stroke of a brush.

I picked this up from tesco for £2.99 but I’m sure you can get it from all kinds of retailers, boots, super drug etc. This is my hair on Sunday after using it on the Saturday night and as you can see it is still full of volume.

I think this may be my new favourite from Batiste. I had a thing for the coloured deep brown spray. I’ll hold tight and wait until hey make a brown volume spray! 😏

Thanks for stopping by

👄January Lip Faves👄

Here are some of my favourite January lip colours!

👄Kinda sexy MAC👄

My latest addition to my collection. Bloody gorgeous! A neutral pinky rose with a Matte finish. To me this is an Angelina Jolie lip colour, it makes my lips appear plumper and fuller. Texture wise, as a matte – it’s kinda high maintenance. You need to prep those lips by exfoliating and applying lipbalm to fix the issue of patchy lips. It’s creamy and glides like butter, but a bit drying after a while, still LOVE it though!

👄Velvet Teddy MAC👄-

My everyday go to lippy. This lipstick always seems to be sold out but luckily I managed to get my hands on one a while ago and I love it. A great every day nude that can be worn over a lipliner or without. Suits my olive/ish  skintone perfectly and looks so elegant and chic. Also matte finish so can be slightly drying so prep those lips well!

👄Bitch perfect Charlotte Tilbury👄- Well I was bought this little gem for Christmas. Charlotte’s lipstick range K.I.S.S.I.N.G are supposed to give a rich full colour, luminous finish and keep your lips smooth and hydrated. It is an opaque finish with a satin shine on it, making your  lips appear fuller. They also have a slight vanilla scent to them 💕💕

All 3 lipsticks are pretty similar in colour with Velvet Teddy being the darkest. I Love them all, What are your January favourties? Xxx

Urban Decay Setting Spray

Hi girlies!

For Christmas my lovely boyfriend got me the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.

This spray is the holy grail of setting sprays!!

If your like me when you do your makeup and go out somewhere your face slowly slides off you leaving with creases under your eyes and looking bedraggled, this for me is due to my oily skin, so when I saw this it was a must to try!

If I had known about this before it would have solved so many problems! I went out for new year and sprayed this on my face at about 8.30 and usually by about 1am in the club toilet your face has slid off and you have to redo it as best you can. There was no need to redo anything including my lip liner, it was all still in place, amazing!

This product is quite pricey but it sure is worth it, it’s £21.00. You only need a few sprays so I can see it lasting a long time.

If you don’t listen to me expect to receive this as a birthday/ Christmas present because I just know you will love it!

Have you tried it before?

Shopping Haul!

hey beauty’s!

Hope you all had a good christmas and new year, I’ve been really lazy recently it’s time to get back on it! I went shopping today and bought some bits! So I thought i would share my purchases with you!

Quick & Easy hair mask

Now Here’s a post I have been meaning to do for awhile, now we are in the winter months its time to give your hair some TLC.  The cold weather really takes its toll on our hair and It’s time to bite back! We swap our moisturisers so why not give your hair a treat. The ingredients I am going to use are easy to get hold of and some of you will have them in your cupboards anyway!

Eggs! Yes Eggs can be a great source of protein for your hair. The yolk is rich in fats and proteins which is extremely moisturising. The whites contain bacteria eating enzymes that cleanse hair and scalp from unwanted oils. For normal hair use whole egg to condition; use just yolks to moisturise dry, brittle hair; and use just whites to treat oily hair. For me, I have a super oily scalp so this is a must.

Yoghurt! Yogurt can help reverse hair damage caused by product build up and air pollution. After a weekend in London my hair felt sooo brittle & dry, and with it being the party season and all I haven’t been the kindest to my hair (I’m sorry i still love you) The lactic acid in yogurt gently strips away dirt while the milk fat moisturises. Double YAY!

Coconut Oil! Now we all know how amazing coconut oil is for our hair and body, this is a vital ingredient in our hair mask as it moisthurises, prevents breakage and is PACKED with nutrients to keep our hair strong and healthy such as Vitamin E, Vitamin K and Iron. Each of these plays a key role in keeping your hair soft and supple, and Iron can even eradicate dandruff from the scalp.

If your thinking of having a go, Mix all these kitchen essentials in one and apply from tip to root, leave for 20 mins and rinse with cool water.  I like to wear it up in a bun and keep it off my face and skin because lets face it… it’s raw egg!! Let me know how you get on I guarantee you will love it!

happy hair masking !

whats your favourite? let me know, Fran xxx
