Nip&fab;Dragons blood cleansing pads!

Nip&fab;Dragons blood cleansing pads!

After recently seeing that the kardashians were a fan on the Nip & Fab range, I stumbled across them in the sale at Superdrug for £4.49 instead of £9.95, so i just had to!

I have to tell you all something funny, when i was buying them with my friend I said ‘ do you think its real dragon’s blood?’

and the best part was she was like ‘I don’t know i hope not!’ It was not until i got home and asked my mum the same question that i remembered that dragon’s aren’t real… :”)

I didn’t know what to expect when i first opened them but they are almost like pre loaded cotton pads, moist to touch, quite thin.

First of all the smell of this product is lovely, I think its the witch hazel that gives it there smell, it’s like a clean spa smelling smell, lol.

This product claims to : Wipe away the day with these gentle cleansing pads enriched with salicylic + hyaluronic acids to deeply cleanse pores + provide long-lasting hydration for skin that appears plumper.

I would say it does to the above, when i use it after my other skin care products it really does leave my face clean and touchwood my skin has been clearer since i started using them. I was sceptical at first because my skin can get really quite oily but since using these i would say it has got a lot better. I have heard Salicylic acid can be quite drying but this product has the addition of hyaluronic acids  which means that skin isn’t stripped and is instead left hydrated and plum. I would say use them and wait 5 minutes before you apply your moisturiser as it does leave a residue on your face.

All in all I love this product and would defo recommend, especially while they are in the sale! I’m not sure If i am prepared to pay  the full £9.95 for them as I do feel that is quite steep.  I have had mine for a couple of weeks and I am already half way through the pot. They may have to be a luxury item for holidays or weekends away oh and birthdays of course 😉

I am excited to try some of their other products in there range.

Have you used any of the Nip & Fab range?

FLAWLESS Revolution Eyeshadow Palette

I must tell you all about this fabulous little palette I have found.

The brand ‘Revolution’ has taken the makeup industry by storm in the past few months and I can see why! All of their products I have tried so far have been amazing, stay tuned for my next blog post on their contour and highlighting kit!

This Eyeshadow palette comes in beautiful rose gold packaging, which was what really caught my eye. It also has a mirror running along the full length of the palette which is what I look for when choosing eye palettes.

The exterior has a black glossy finish to it which makes it easy to wipe clean after use. It also has a snap shut function on the front so there is no risk of leaving it open and spoiling your eyeshadows.

It has 32 different eyeshadow colours with different textures to each one, some matte, ideal for bases and others metallic/sparkly.

The colours are a great variety including day and night shades which means its great for the week and weekends and there is no need to carry multiple eye shadows in your bag!

As you can see by the usage on this i love the Copper Shimmer shade in this palette. It’s a lovely copper colour and being blue/green eyed i like to use this to make my eyes stand out. Im excited to try the rest, Red night looks like it could be lovely with a black smokey eye.

Here is a look I have created with this palette using colours, paper (top left) , highlight (top row, 4th in), Copper shimmer (3rd row, 4th in).

Now, the price! I picked this up in my local Superdrug for £8! You can’t go wrong with this girls, the pigment’s in the shadows are amazing, I would say it is on par if not better than the Naked palette’s!!
Have you tried any of the revolution eye palettes?

until next time

👄January Lip Faves👄

Here are some of my favourite January lip colours!

👄Kinda sexy MAC👄

My latest addition to my collection. Bloody gorgeous! A neutral pinky rose with a Matte finish. To me this is an Angelina Jolie lip colour, it makes my lips appear plumper and fuller. Texture wise, as a matte – it’s kinda high maintenance. You need to prep those lips by exfoliating and applying lipbalm to fix the issue of patchy lips. It’s creamy and glides like butter, but a bit drying after a while, still LOVE it though!

👄Velvet Teddy MAC👄-

My everyday go to lippy. This lipstick always seems to be sold out but luckily I managed to get my hands on one a while ago and I love it. A great every day nude that can be worn over a lipliner or without. Suits my olive/ish  skintone perfectly and looks so elegant and chic. Also matte finish so can be slightly drying so prep those lips well!

👄Bitch perfect Charlotte Tilbury👄- Well I was bought this little gem for Christmas. Charlotte’s lipstick range K.I.S.S.I.N.G are supposed to give a rich full colour, luminous finish and keep your lips smooth and hydrated. It is an opaque finish with a satin shine on it, making your  lips appear fuller. They also have a slight vanilla scent to them 💕💕

All 3 lipsticks are pretty similar in colour with Velvet Teddy being the darkest. I Love them all, What are your January favourties? Xxx

Urban Decay Setting Spray

Hi girlies!

For Christmas my lovely boyfriend got me the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.

This spray is the holy grail of setting sprays!!

If your like me when you do your makeup and go out somewhere your face slowly slides off you leaving with creases under your eyes and looking bedraggled, this for me is due to my oily skin, so when I saw this it was a must to try!

If I had known about this before it would have solved so many problems! I went out for new year and sprayed this on my face at about 8.30 and usually by about 1am in the club toilet your face has slid off and you have to redo it as best you can. There was no need to redo anything including my lip liner, it was all still in place, amazing!

This product is quite pricey but it sure is worth it, it’s £21.00. You only need a few sprays so I can see it lasting a long time.

If you don’t listen to me expect to receive this as a birthday/ Christmas present because I just know you will love it!

Have you tried it before?

Brush Wash

Time to wash the brushes!

If any of you are like me cleaning makeup brushes doesn’t sound like the most appealing job but I can’t stress how important it is, I can’t stand it when your brushes get clogged full of makeup, just think of all the oil and bacteria that starts to build up inside the bristles  GROSS! and then we go and swirl it on our faces!

I tend to wash them every three weeks or if I feel one needs a more regular wash I will wash inbetween, for example my foundation brush takes a beating and is one of the main brushes so i usually do that every other week. Clean brushes is the key to clean looking makeup.

There are tonnes of makeup removers on the market that you can use and even tutorials on how to but it’s really not that complicated!

Firstly, run your brush under Luke warm water with the bristles facing downwards, avoid getting water into the very base of the brush as this is where the glue holds your brush together!

Dispence some of your chosen product into the palm of your hand, about a penny size will do. I’m doing this at work so I can use a deep cleansing shampoo. You can use anything from antibacterial hand soap to your hair shampoo. Some makeup products such as oil based foundations  can be hard to wash out of your brushes , applying Washing up liquid before you dampen your brushes Is great for this as it will loosen that up before you wash it.

Next swirl it in your hand into a nice lather and rinse, repeat this step until the water runs clear. Rinse again under Luke warm water.

When your happy that it’s all out, Squeeze off the excess with a paper towel or a towel and leave to dry lying down to allow the water to drain off them!

Et voila!!!

So next time you look at your brushes, give this a go! I can assure you your makeup will go on smoother!!

Do you wash yours? What’s your routine? Xxx

NEW LOOK PURE COLOUR:

 NEW LOOK PURE COLOUR:

Recently I have been trying out some of the makeup from the New Look Pure Colour range.

Here are some reviews on the products I have tried.

Highlighting Stick in shade 93/Pure Gold.

This product is dreamy! You can see from the photo that it is packed with super sparkly pigment. It has a creamy texture and is really easy to use as it on a roller stick. It spreads nicely and you can use it where ever you like! This was £5.99 and worth every penny!

Baked Eyeshadow.

Wow! I really recommend looking at these eyeshadows because even though they didn’t have a huge range (only 5 shades) they were all very lovely shades and all wearable for the day or night.Baked for long lasting colour, this product is also super shimmery! It looks amazing on and really brings out your eye colour. You can use this wet or dry to increase the intensity of it. It is £3.99 and I’ve had mine for a couple of months now, you don’t need much as its super shiny!

Lip liner in Dark Purple.

A lip liner for £1.99!!? Yes please! Dare I say it this eyeliner is better than MAC! It has  a soft point for easy application and has such a long lasting colour I only had to reapply a couple of times a day! It also comes of nicely with no staining. The colour is very similar to my MAC burgundy pencil and for £1.99 It’s a lot cheaper!

Liquid Eye Liner in Black.

So i needed a new eye liner and thought I would give this one a try. The colour is really intense black which I love as I hate black liquid eyeliners that dry greyish. It is water resistant and stays put all day. It dry’s super fast and not once has it gone above my eyelid, you know how it does when you open your eye to early!! girl probs! The brush is slanted for easy application and this one comes in at £3.99. STEAL.

I notice when I go online a lot of the products are sold out, so ID recommend visiting a larger store and seeing if they have the products in store. I’m not surprised its flying off the shelves, its brilliant!  Have you tried any of there products?

Make sure you follow me on instagram & twitter! : chescavenus

Halloween

HALLOWEEN OUTFIT IDEAS!

oooh yay my absolute favourite time of the year! I LOVE dressing up, It’s so exciting! (BIG KID!) I Thought I would post last years outfits I wore incase you were looking for some inspiration. Me & my boyfriend went to two parties as ‘couple costumes’ if you like.

The first costume was Mr & Mrs. Bones!  I took my inspiration from some lovely costumes that I saw online for some crazzyyy prices!

For both of these you will need: fake blood

                         white face paint

                         red lipstick (optional)

something to do the black with, eyeliner, black

                                      face paint etc.

                         black clothing

FOR MRS BONES: I dug out an old dancing costume out of my wardrobe that I had worn for a previous show when I was younger which was perfect for this outfit! obviously, you guys might not have this so a black tutu and a black vest top is perfect! you could even draw on some bones with tippex or paint? This dancing dress has a black tutu attached to it which was perfect. I wore it with black tights and black boots.

The face makeup was me guessing really! I painted one side of my face completly white and left that to dry, I then made the one side of my eye, nose and cheek black and left to set. Next was the mouth, I wanted it to look zippiest so i drew black lines from my just above my top lip to just below my bottom lip! Go wild, draw a black line somewhere and smudge it out, it all looks good in the end! Then obviously the other side of your face is normal! foundation blush and a bit of red lippy!

MR. BONES: For Mr. Bones, my boyfriend Jacob wore a white shirt, black suit trousers and a white bow tie, thinking about it he should have worn a black one but hey ho! How come boys get it so easily!  Throw on a suit and you can be anyone!

The makeup was the same as mine minus the red lipstick! 😉

ZOMBIE DOCTOR AND NURSE!

For the next party we went as a Zombie doctor and Nurse. This one was fun!

Zombie Nurse: I bought this outfit from Amazon! Its only £12 something and It comes ready blood splattered complete with dress, apron and headpiece! I will put the link below,  I bought some bloody tights from the girls section in ASDA. I then found a nurse play kit in the poundshop which is where i got the stethoscope from.

The makeup: For this I wanted to keep my face a little more ‘normal’. I did my normal everyday makeup, I then  made wounds out of tissue and stuck them on with eyelash glue, then goured them up with skin coloured makeup then added some blood, they looked pretty realistic! I also bought some tattoo’s from eBay, in the shape of gashes and wounds, they were fab and only cost a couple of pounds, infact i still have some left for this year!

Zombie Doctor: This  one was fun! I bought some surgical scrubs from eBay for about £6 and then we blooded them ourselves with fake blood! We hung it on the line outside and splattered it all over it, smearing our hands over it and all sorts,  The set included top, trousers and a mask! I bought some gloves home from work and applied some blood to those also.

The makeup: I applied some black eyeshadow to his head to appear ‘bruised’ and some red blood in his eyebrows and cheeks. We then backcombed all his hair and thew some talc in it, this helped to give the mysterious look as it turned it white! was a bugger to get out though, haha. I certainly wouldn’t want him operating on me would you?!

Review of Elf’s Baked blusher <3

Happy Monday everyone!💕

Is anyone else abit sluggish like me this morning? I couldn’t get out of bed this morning 😔

As always the postman bought me a treat into work to cheer me up a little and today it was Elf’s baked blusher in shade ‘Peachy Cheeky’. I have admired this for a while and have finally decided to buy it.

ELF stands for Eyes Lips face and there pricing is exrememly reasonable!! This blush cost me £4.50! Pretty good Ey!

E.L.F. is a hit or miss adventure but when you do find a hit it’s like winning the beauty lottery!!!

First of all I don’t really think these should be labelled as blushes. The majority of them look more like highlighters and they all have a glowing sheen to them so I don’t think they can really work as a blush as it doesn’t have enough colour pigment in.

However these are easily some of the best highlighters I own and I have tried alot of highlighters including MAC and Charlotte Tilbury! I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a highlighter shade instead of a blush unless you like your blusher without any depth!

I look forward to trying the other shades in this range 😄

All in all They have done a good job with these Baked Blushes and they should fit your needs if you don’t have the money to shell out for a MAC Mineralize Skin-finish.

Here is a swatch on the back of my hand of the colour, you can see here it’s quite shimmery.

Have you tried any elf? What have you hit the beauty jackpot with?

Charlotte Tilbury Contour Kit

WOW! This contour kit is so good.

I have had this set for quite a while so I think it’s time to review it!This is amazing!! Probably one of the best sets on the market.

Firstly, the packaging. It’s BEAUTIFUL and makes you feel totally swish when you whip it out of your bag. The two best things about this product are the colors, and then the formulation of the product itself.

I have the Light to Medium version (Medium to Dark is now available…may have to get it for summer time). The bronzer is the perfect shade of bronze. It isn’t too orange, brown, red, or pink. I have used it with a heavier hand to sculpt my face and also with a lighter hand as a bronzer to warm up my cheeks and it does both of these with aplomb. It also looks great with a rose or peach colored blush layered on top. The highlighter isn’t gold, there is some iridescence and perhaps a hint of light peach mixed in, making it multi tonal and creates a beautiful glow on every skin. There isn’t any glitter, just a nice sheen and glow.

The formula of it is powder but isn’t “powdery” – it’s creamy and buttery. The texture reminds me a lot of eye shadows. Both the bronzer and the highlighter colours in this set can be used as eyeshadow.

I’ve had this set for about 3 months now but still have alot of product left. I think I paid about £50 for it but this is a good deal to me since I will likely never hit pan (although I would buy this again in a heartbeat if I did). Highly recommend this set, and other Charlotte Tilbury makeup as they are a high-end makeup company that does not test on animals, yay!!
